Write a prayer to God expressing these thoughts.

It began a few years ago when we started Fireseed and wanted to follow in the steps of Christ as He was moved by the Spirit into the wilderness for 40 days before He launched into His ministry. It has become a regular rhythm of our lives now.

We all individually fast differently, but will seek for greater depth with God in solidarity. Some of us will be doing the “Daniel Fast” while others will do other things.

The fast will begin Sunday night, October 4th at sunset and will conclude Friday night, November 13th.  The East Austin Studio Tour will begin the next day.

We will come together for a weekly time of prayer and worship on Sundays at 7pm, as well as at other times.   Anyone is welcome to join us, whether you decide to participate in the fast or not.

Please pray for us and with us as we seek spiritual breakthroughs with Christ.

We currently need volunteers on Wednesday afternoons from 3-4pm at Ortega Elementary in East Austin. Friends of Fireseed are leading an after school program that leads 4th & 5th graders to create a mural that represents the story of their neighborhood. The unveiling will happen at a culminating event on November 14 in conjunction with the East Austin Studio Tour.

From sweatshops to scratchy underwear, jillions of creative

freethinkers have found good reason to shun the mall and reinvent the

meaning and purpose of “fashion.”  In East Austin you can find

designers who find all kinds of hidden resources for unique materials

and aesthetic inspiration that echoes current trends or classic

flavors, yet distinctly dance to their own beat.   Does Gucci irritate

you?  Come breathe some fresh air and rest your eyes on some of these

lovely remedies.

Fashion Designers and Friends of Fireseed are encouraged to contact us and participate.

A showcase of experimental , prayer pods and altar spaces created in collaboration for a variety of specific east Austin sites.  There will be live collaboration and live music the night of the program.  East Austin artists as well as friends of Fireseed elsewhere are encouraged to attend and explore working collaboratively, intersecting art and faith.

We are a collective living on and around Ledesma Road, East Austin. After years of cohabitating with other late 20’s roommates living transient lives in isolated neighborhoods, a group moved to the same East Austin neighborhood with the hope of living intentionally with each other and neighbors. We are an experimental project intersecting relationships, art, culture, and faith. This event will showcase pieces that have been created by 2 or more of us, our neighbors, or friends of Fireseed. Also featuring a live collaboration with open participation from the public.
